    1982 Mazda B2000 FED registration IN CALI (!) as it was a mechanics lien sale and that is a loophole that doesnt put the burden of smog testing prior to selling in Cali. So I bought it, failed when it was pass or dont pay and bought a new NOS carburetor, passed with flying colors! 2 years later is failed miserably! found exhaust had multiple holes in it and fixed all those. Did a valve job, repaired 4 defective smog parts (EGR, and 3 other leaking vacuum devices...took me 5 years to gaterh up all these working obsolete parts) and now a OE expempt Weber 32/34 carb is in the mail. Its crazy that one smog shop would only test in first gear and aborted the test when he found the RPM and the MPH didnt fit the perameters of the dyno test (he was incompetant) and the Ref I was forced to go get a "waiver' from (at 2 weeks apt date) and the ref said the tech was not willing to test in 2nd as the manual states and even called him to dress him down on sending a customer to him on such a basic error. Im hoping the new carb with its CARB expempt listed jetting will clean up whatever failed me. If it needs a CAT (highly likely as it has 240,000 miles on it) can I put a FED cat on it at $50 instead of a CARB $350 cat? I mean who's gonna look under it to determine if the cat is correct? I have yet to visit a smog shop with a lift. And yes, these guys must be under a microscope as one failed me for not having a EVAP rated vacuum line that the LAST smog tech replaced on my 92 SC400! I looked over the 2021 Sog tech manual and there is NOTHING that states a rating for a vacuum or emissions line under the hood, and yet he failed me for tampered.

      I can't find a carburetor that has it. Where can I buy the right carburetor

    • @pcofranc
      @pcofranc 8 місяців тому

      @@user-qu2jd8ty6z the first thing to realize is this is not like most generic scooters that range from 50 cc to 150 cc those are basically using a generic carburetor from the factory. The only one that will fit the scooter is an OEM carburetor and you’ll have to order that from Kimco and it’s not cheap. It’s around $250 a friend of mine that had continuous problems with his scooter ordered one directly from Kymco and it’s solved all the problems and worked perfectly when it comes to using a generic carburetor you’re gonna have to modify the airbox and it’s not easy because there’s not that much room under the seat. I think you would have to use a plastic or metal extension tube and then mount a filter on the end of that.

    • @pcofranc
      @pcofranc 8 місяців тому

      Sorry, I don’t think I completely understood your question but I think I do now. Most generic carburetors use a single throttle connection and that’s all that’s needed. That will pull the carburetor open and the spring will cause it to close but this style many motorcycles use two cables. When you twist, the throttle one cable causes it to open up, and when you twist, the throttle shot, the second cable forces the carburetor to close so in the event that the spring didn’t work, you would be able to twist the throttle in the opposite direction and force it to close, generic carburetors don’t do this. They just rely on the spring to close the carburetor.

    how often / miles should I grease my final drive? 1993 K75 RT. Maintenance records indicate it was greased in 2002 at 23,000 miles. Now in 2023 it has 27,000 on it. Its only 4,000 miles but many years since service. Advice appreciated. Thank you.

    • @pcofranc
      @pcofranc 9 місяців тому

      I would absolutely remove the final drive to inspect and clean the existing grease and replace that with 60% Molly grease and take pictures that you could show to a future buyer to prove that it’s in good condition. Even though the miles are low there’s a danger if cheap Greece was used or it wasn’t done properly and it’s not worth taking a chance and remember you don’t have to do the clutch blinds because they never wear out even if they’re completely dry. It’s only the final drive that’s in danger. Unfortunately it takes less than an hour and a half to remove it clean it and grease it and put it back on.

    So I've only used this pressure washer one time. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP The one time I used it, it worked great. I recently had new siding installed but kept the old gutters and small areas surrounding my house that weren't replaced so they looked horrible and dirty because of the new siding. I needed to get it cleaned asap. When I used the pressure washer, man it just melted all the dirt and grime that was on those areas of my house. I used that krud kutter soap and it was over after that. Easy to assemble, feels durable, very simple to use. Also, I purchased a used one to save money and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I want to get more use out of it so I think I'll be washing the cars and update this comment as time goes on.

My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

    The car is 2001 Saturn SL2 w/automatic transmission. I wanted to remove the Steering Column on that car, but confused on one black cable in the plastic box, which is attached to the bottom of the Ignition Lock Cylinder Housing w/some tabs and zip-tie (probably some tabs were broken, so someone attached w/zip-tie, bcs I saw another film and there were just tabs there). I'm afraid to remove that box w/cable going out of it, since think that it may mess up the lock (the box w/cable is sitting just under the Lock Cylinder). On another side that cable is attached under the Shifting handle in the same way how it is shown in this film. I couldn't find any similar Lock Ignition systems in films, besides the one mentioned above where the author just released that box slightly w/words: I don't know what will happen if to remove that box completely. Update: I have Shop Manual for that car and found fm one description there that the black box might be roll connector (I don't know what it does exactly). There's a shortcut that you might want to think about. Reseal the oil pan with epoxy and fiberglass tape the kind used for drywall. I've done it and it will last for many years the main difficulty is getting as much oil out of the pan as possible it will still see a lot but what can happen is you end up with a very small drip because some oil Works its way through the epoxy as it's setting. A trick you can use is remove a quart of oil then and a quart of paint thinner or kerosene or something like that start the motor and let it idle for a few minutes but don't drive it or put it under any load. Drain the oil put the plug back in and now pour a little bit of paint thinner or kerosene using a small funnel through the dipstick hole. To further than the oil down. You can also heat the panel little bit with a heat gun in the repair area also check UA-cam as I'm sure there's a lot of additional tricks. Also consider changing the two front struts complete with a new coil to stop the car from bottoming out

    I'm trying to pass Cali smog right now in the process of changing my converter... Man you must have bad luck having to change it twice none of the smogs shops I've been to even checked for the correct converter even the really picky ones.. ( tho I guess there supposed too)... When I took it in for smog earlier this year the place that have been testing it for years refused to test it saying that it wasn't right for my car and I had to prove it I went to another shop and the guy looked at the El number and it was so rusted he couldn't really read it so I actually got him to the car while he had it jacked up took a picture brought my paperwork in and showed him the numbers on the paperwork and he accepted it

    Fact : If no car in the U.S. ever got tested for smog - the air that we all breath would be exactly the same. The legislature has nothing better to do than just pile on law upon law while they collect paychecks.

      David thanks for the update I appreciate it and please update on how that battery performs I bought another battery called x - longer from Amazon and I'm going to have another go at this this time my phone is helping me as the screen started to lift because I think the aftermarket battery I put in about a year ago is swelling so I thought well this will make getting the screen off easier the other key is at the top and bottom the bezels you have to go in almost an inch on the top and bottom with the pulling pic because if you don't cut that away that's one of the causes of using excessive pressure the other thing is if you look at Apple they actually have like a plastic skirt around the screen assembly and that makes it much less likely to break also many phones now put the battery under the back side so the only reason that you would be removing the screen in most cases is to replace it because it's already cracked unfortunately the pixel puts it under the screen.
